Premier Thermal is a manufacturing company providing products and services primarily to the automotive, heavy truck, energy and agriculture industries.  PT’s customers include OEMs, distributors, forgers and foundries.  PT services its customers through multiple facilities located throughout the Midwestern United States operating 24 hours per day.

Nature and Scope

Do you have a sales hunter mentality and enjoy prospecting, qualifying targets, presenting, and winning deals?  Are you a self-starter that thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment?  We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to develop new sales opportunities within Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Canada to achieve company objectives for sales growth and profitability.  In this role, you will be responsible for strengthening relationships with existing customers and cultivating new relationships with prospective customers.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Identify prospective customers by using various sales and marketing channels including, online business directories, referrals, participating in organizations and associations, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Generate new sales opportunities with target customers and obtain requests for quotation.
  • Build relationships with c-suite, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing personnel at key accounts to perpetuate confidence and trust in the company.
  • Thoroughly prepare for all customer meetings and ask engaging questions that draw out both needs and buying motives.
  • Follow up on quotations for territory to secure opportunities and coordinate negotiations with the appropriate internal team members.
  • Serve as a liaison between our customer and company during product launch to clarify technical or logistical issues between the customer and plant quality or production teams.
  • Meet with qualified prospects and customers at least 60% of the time.
  • Monitor the customer base and market for changing conditions. Make recommendations to management regarding sales trends and investment opportunities.
  • Complete periodic assessments of competition to include processes, prices, and sales.
  • Liaison between accounting team and customer to resolve customer payment issues.
  • Communicate price adjustments to our customers.
  • Maintain high level of industry knowledge and remain up to date on industry trends and issues.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales forecasts and reports, documenting annual goals and reporting against, monitor/track performance to sales forecasts, and documenting all activities in CRM.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or similar discipline.
  • At least 5 years of technical sales experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven results in creating new business opportunities and achieving aggressive sales growth.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.  Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing social media as a sales and marketing tool.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time and visit customer locations.
  • Must have the ability to travel outside the U.S.
